Gypsy  & Pepe

Sex: Female - Male

Date of birth: April 2023 - January 2021

Rescued: October 2024 - January 2025

Size: Small/Medium - Medium, low rider

Weight: 11 kg - 18 kg

A little bit about them: Pepe and Gypsy are two inseparable rescues who have truly become each other’s family here at PATA. When they were fostered together, something magical happened — they bonded instantly and have been best friends ever since. Each has helped the other gain confidence and heal from past trauma. After everything they’ve overcome, we’re hoping to find them a loving home together, so they never have to be apart again.

Pepe is a spirited, funny guy who loves attention and beach walks, while Gypsy brings a gentle, devoted energy and endless affection. Together, they’re the perfect blend of playfulness and love — ready to fill your home with joy, loyalty, and wagging tails.

Gypsy's story: Gypsy showed up on someone’s property, frightened and starving. She was extremely timid—she’d eat the food left out for her and then disappear back into the jungle. It took time and patience to earn her trust and finally bring her to safety. At the vet, we discovered she had recently been spayed, yet no one ever came forward to claim her.

Pepe's story: We received a call from a concerned lady who’d found Pepe with a very serious tail injury. The wound was down to the bone and badly infected. It looked like a machete wound. Poor boy was bleeding and in a lot of pain.

Paco

Sex: Male

Date of Birth: October 2023

Rescued: April 2025

Size: Medium

Weight: 18 kg

A little about him: Paco is a brave and curious young pup born in October 2023, with a heart full of adventure and a spirit that won’t quit. Despite a rough start—including being hit by a car and surviving past abuse—Paco is healing beautifully and keeps a bright, playful attitude. He loves beach days, exploring new places, and (cheekily) chasing chickens! Loud voices can make him uneasy, so he’ll thrive in a calm, loving home where kindness leads the way. Paco also doesn’t enjoy being alone, so he’d be happiest with a family that's often home or with doggie companions by his side.

His story: Paco was found on the road with an open bleeding shoulder wound after being hit by a vehicle. X-rays also revealed a broken shoulder blade. Nobody claimed him so we took him in and gave him the vet care he needed. Less than 2 months later, his wound had completely healed
over m. The bone is still mending but Paco is using his leg more and more, and gets around nicely. He’s been vaccinated and neutered and is now ready for his forever family to take him home.

Sadie

Sex: Female - Male

Date of birth:  March 2025

Rescued: November 2025

Size: Medium

Weight: 14 kg

A little bit about her: Sadie is a gorgeous 8-month-old with a beautiful face and a soul that’s just as gorgeous. With love and care, Sadie is learning to have fun again and has realized that not all humans will hurt her. She gets along well with other dogs, adores her beach walks, and has a sweet, calm personality that will warm your heart. Sadie is now looking for a forever home where she’ll be safe, respected, and truly loved. If you're ready to show this lovely girl what it means to be part of a family, Sadie is ready to love you back tenfold.

Her story: Sadie's former owners moved away and left her behind—she was scared and confused. But even after all that, Sadie never lost her loving spirit.

Bruno

Sex: Male

Date of Birth: October 2024

Rescued: October 2025

Size: Small / Medium

Weight: 13 kg

A little about him: Bruno is a small, handsome 12-month-old pup with a gentle heart and a touch of shyness. He’s learning to trust again and is quickly warming up to human affection, though he can still be a little cautious at first. Around new dogs, Bruno sometimes feels unsure, but time spent with the pack is already helping—he’s started making friends and joining in on playtime. Though he’s small, we suspect there’s a bit of Boxer in him—especially when he does his adorable little “Boxer bounce” of excitement!

His story: Bruno was abandoned and showed up at someone’s doorstep, starving and terrified. When we took him to PATA, we discovered he was infested with botfly maggots that had burrowed into his skin, which the vet carefully removed. He was also anemic—but with proper care, rest, and love, he’s now fully healed and ready to find his forever family.

Carolina

Sex: Female

Date of Birth:  May 2024

Rescued: November 20205

Size: Medium/Large

Weight: 20 kg

A little bit about her: Carolina is a joyful, happy 18-month-old girl with a constant smile and a playful spirit. She has a wonderful way of putting other dogs at ease and warmly welcomes new rescues into her play group. Despite being abandoned on the street, Carolina still loves people and trusts easily. Her favorite thing in the world is playing with her furry friends. Carolina is now looking for her forever home—a place where she will be safe, cared for, and truly loved. If you’re ready to show this fun-loving girl what it means to be part of a family, she’s ready to give you her whole heart.

Her story: Carolina was abandoned at a well-known dumping spot. It’s hard to understand how anyone could leave behind such a sweet, gentle dog. At first, she was sad and very timid. A kind neighbor noticed her and made sure she was fed and cared for until we were able to bring her to safety. Now, Carolina is thriving and waiting for her happy ending.

Bo

Sex: Male

Date of Birth: May 2021

Rescued: May 2025

Size: Medium

Weight: 14 kg

Currently in foster: No

A little about him: Meet Bo, a gentle 4-year-old sweetheart with the kindest soul and the calmest heart. Life hasn't been easy for Bo—he was recently surrendered by his owner—but through it all, he’s remained loving, trusting, and full of quiet strength. This easy-going boy gets along beautifully with other dogs and brings a peaceful energy wherever he goes. With his soft eyes and sweet nature, Bo is the kind of companion who will quietly curl up by your side and remind you what unconditional love really means.

His story: Over the years, PATA and generous community members have supported Bo’s vet care, as his owner had limited means. In December, Bo was hit by a car and suffered a broken leg. He stayed with us for several weeks while he recovered and then returned home. Sadly, Bo then got sick with tick fever and anemia. This time, his owner made the heartbreaking decision to surrender him to our care – something we had always offered to do if it ever came to that.

Jacquie

Sex: Female

Date of Birth:  November 2024

Rescued: November 20205

Size: Small

Weight: 10 kg

A little bit about her: Jacquie is a loving, loyal little dog who is full of life and personality. She has a confident attitude and doesn’t let other dogs push her around—she likes to take the lead and be the alpha. With people, though, Jacquie is sweet, affectionate, and just a little bit sassy in the most charming way. She’s now searching for her forever home. Could this adventurous little love bug be the one you’ve been waiting for?

Her story: Jacquie was abandoned in the countryside, but thankfully a kind couple took her in and cared for her until she could be brought to the refuge. When she arrived, she was in heat and suffering from tick fever and anemia. Thanks to proper care and treatment, Jacquie has fully recovered and is now strong, healthy, and bursting with adventurous spirit—ready to start her next chapter with a loving family.

A little bit about her: Coco is an adorable 3-month old puppy. She’s loving life at the refuge, prefers the calmer dogs, sleeps through the night, and is already potty trained — such a smart girl! Coco has shown us just how strong and loving these little souls can be. She’s now safe, cared for, and ready for the bright future she deserves.

Her story: Little Coco was found abandoned on the streets, covered in fleas and ticks. The infestation left her with irritated skin, patchy fur loss, and she was also suffering from intestinal parasites. Despite such a tough start, Coco is a happy and resilient little puppy.

Tyson

Sex: Male

Date of Birth: July 2024

Rescued: October 2025

Size: Medium

Weight: 19 kg

A little about him: Despite everything he’s endured, Tyson has remained friendly, trusting, and remarkably well-behaved — a true fighter in every sense. 💛 We named him Tyson for his incredible strength and determination to survive. Now, as he heals, his sweet and playful side is shining through. He loves being petted and fussed over, and after just two short beach walks, he’s already obsessed with getting out on the leash and exploring. Watching his transformation has been truly heartwarming.

His story: This brave boy was hit by a car and left to suffer for four long days before we found him. By the time we rescued him, Tyson was in terrible shape — he had several wounds, one of his testicles was severely damaged and necrotising, and his wounds were full of screw worms. He was on the verge of sepsis. Our vet team performed an emergency surgery involving a full castration and deep cleaning to remove all the necrotic tissue and worms. Thankfully, the surgery went well, but Tyson’s road to recovery has just begun.

Faith

Sex: Female

Date of Birth:  April 2025

Rescued: December 20205

Size: Small/Medium

Weight: 11 kg

A little bit about her: Faith is an 8-month-old puppy who has been through more than any young dog should. Due to her past experiences and injuries, she can be cautious around people at first, but she is steadily gaining confidence. With patience and gentle handling, her sweet nature comes through, and she enjoys calm affection and reassurance.

Her story: Faith was abandoned on the side of a busy road with multiple injuries. She had a severely infected open wound on her back, along with a noticeable injury to her back right leg. She was extremely frightened and would not allow anyone to approach for the first two days. Food was left for her, but by the third day she had become weak and was struggling to use both of her back legs.

Veterinary examination and X-rays revealed a fracture to her cervical spine. Inflammation around the nerves was affecting her mobility and coordination, making it difficult for her to walk. Additional imaging showed fractures to her knee and pelvis, which are believed to be older injuries that had already begun to heal. Faith is currently on specialized medication to reduce nerve inflammation and manage pain. She has already shown improvement and is able to bear weight on her stronger back leg. While one back leg has lasting damage, we are optimistic that, with continued treatment, rest, and time, she will be able to move around comfortably on three legs and enjoy a good quality of life.
